ToCo, Tokyo Collective, is an artist group that myself and felow Tokyo-based illustrator Julia Nascimento started in 2018 as a way to connect Japanese and International creatives. We wanted to give a chance to both professional and amatuer artists to exercise their creativity by writing visual stories based on a Tokyo-related theme. We collect the finished stories into anthologies, which we aim to publish annually.
Our newest addition is released this weekend, November 30th. In ToCo's next edition, "himitsu," eleven artists and writers tell visual stories of Tokyo's secrets. Come to The Landing, the second floor gallery at the lovely August Moon Cafe, in Hamacho, Tokyo to get your copy of the new book, meet the artists, and see a special one-day exhibition of original artwork from the project. Enterance to the exhibition is free. Food and drink can be purchased and enjoyed on the first floor at August Moon Cafe.
