 Artedly is a monthly meet-up for creatives featuring photographers and digital artists. This month the meetup will be part of a four-day art event, Artober, held in the gallery and event space of Hibiya Okuroji, under the JR tracks near Yurakucho. I will be doing a guest Pop-up on Friday 3/21. Come stop by my booth, check out the gallery of over 40 artists’ works, enjoy a drink and mingle with international Tokyo creatives.

 This October Erica Ward and Perfumer Ko will be unveiling a collaboration incense project: Tokyo Kasumi. Ko has crafted four original incense frangrances inspired by the four seasons. Erica Ward was inspired by his fragrances to create illustrations that combine seasonal floral motifs with snippets of urban Tokyo. These illustrations will appear on the incense packages. At the launch exhibition, all sixteen illustrations will be on display and Tokyo Kasumi incense and artbooks will be available for purchase. We hope you will come experience this collaboration! The gallery is in a converted traditional-style Japanese house. A variety of Erica Ward prints, stickers, and postcards are also available at the gallery. エリカ・ワードのプリント、ステッカー、ポストカードもギャラリーで販売いたします。  “Welcome Back to Engiyado” is a multi-artist exhibition produced by Honyashan and held at the Japanese-style inn, Ryokan Sawanoya. The first edition of this event, “Welcome to Engiyado” was held in 2021, and this year we are back with my illustrations and Takao Sakai’s Japanesed sweets sculptures decorating the lobby of Sawanoya. Perfumer Ko will provide an original room fragrance for the exhibition. Come by and enjoy the art as well as the charming neighborhood of Yanaka. A reception event will be held on 9/22 from 14:00~18:00 where I will be doing a live painting.

The event will feature a live performance of my digital drawing, paired with Perfumer Kō’s "fragrance DJ.” Perfumer Kō will mix a fragrance formula live and guests can enjoy each element of the fragrance as the ingredients are added to the blend, while relaxing to music and a corresponding live digital drawing done by Erica Ward on iPad and projected onto the gallery wall. Live performances are at 13:00 and 15:00. The performance is expected to last about 30 minutes. Reservations are given priority and ticket price is ¥1000 (to be collected at the door.) Only 20 seats available for each show! Reserve below. Along with the performances we will also have artwork exhibitions and pop-up shops by some of our favorite visual artists and creators. I will have new and past works on display and goods for sale. The pop-up shop space does not need a reservation and is free to enter 12:00~17:00 *the 2F gallery space cannot be entered during the performance times 13:00~13:30 and 15:00~15:30 
I am very excited to announce that my collaboration woodblock print "Four Seasons” is now available for purchase online. 本物の木版画セット「四季」がオンラインショップで発売開始！  The 4-piece print series is a collaboration between myself and fourth-generation woodblock printer, Ogawa Nobuto, with Sekioka Wooblock Print Studio. My design, “Four Seasons,” pairs seasonal motifs with the signage of four Japanese convenience stores. In this special set, the designs are hand printed from hand carved woodblocks — with each printed color requiring a seperate carved block. ４枚の木版画は、江戸から続く関岡木版画工房の四代目小川信人氏とのコラボレーションワークです。日本のコンビニに四季の要素を合わせた作品「四季」を彫師、摺師さんが木版画にしてくれました。
Each set comes with all four designs. Each print is signed and numbered, from an edition number of 200. このセットには４枚の木版画が含まれ、それぞれの木版画には通し番号とサインが入っています。  “Four Seasons” is one of many designs from my 2022 series, “Senja-e” which utilizes the traditional vertical shape of a senjafuda, which is a style that Ogawa-san and his workshop specialize in. In the future we will continue to make collaborative woodblock prints, so now is a great time to start your collection.
関岡木版画工房が得意とする伝統的な千社札の縦長のフォーマットを使用した「四季」は2022年に発表した「千社絵」シリーズからのデザインです。将来的には他のデザインも同様に木版画にする予定です。  2023.11.21 [TUE] - 12.3 [SUN] 13:00~19:00 最終日17:00まで (Final day till 17:00) 会期中無休 Open all days At BLANK Koenji 神社や寺院の柱や壁に見られる精緻な木彫り彫刻の「宮彫り」。今回の個展では宮彫りをモチーフにした作品シリーズで、私たちが日常で当たり前に見ているものについて考えを巡らせます。 Miyabori are the intricate wood carvings seen on the pillars and walls at shrines and temples. The series presented at this solo exhibition uses miyabori motifs to ask the viewer to contemplate the objects we may take for granted in our daily lives. 会期中は新作作品を展示・販売するほか、アートブックやアートプリント、ステッカーなどのグッズも販売します。 All new artworks will be on display and for sale during the exhibition. 会期中の毎日在廊予定です I plan to be at the gallery all days during the exhibition.  This group exhibition will feature ZINE (handmade books) creators at The _____ Gallery in Harajuku. There will be a table with my illustration books, the new Tokyo Extraction zine and mini fragrance experience, as well as a wall with a selection of my framed original art available for take-home purchase!
