![]() I am happy to announce the upcoming release of a new zine, hajime. hajime is a collection of seven non-Tokyo-native artists' visual interpretations of the theme "first impressions of Tokyo." The zine includes comics, illustrations, and poetry, in a diverse range of tones and styles. I decided to do some comic-style work for the book, with a small sample image below. Lots of fine lines and details to represent the intricacies of Tokyo. I'm also happy to have my illustration, "Train Lines in Bloom" as the cover of our first issue! Release Party and Exhibition All seven artists will be displaying original work from the zine at ninetytwo13 gallery in Roppongi run by Tokyo Chapter, open to the public 10am till 19pm Sunday 4/14~ Wednesday 4/18, as well as on Sunday 4/22. An opening party will be held at the gallery from 18:00~21:00 on 4/14. Come by to get a special discount on the zine, and see original works and meet the artists! Check out the release party facebook event page for location details and updates. Hope to see you there!
