Thank you to everyone who came to my “Engimono” solo exhibition at CLOUDS Art + Coffee in Koenji, Tokyo this summer. Despite the situation many people showed their support and the exhibition was a success. Thank you to all my supporters, and CLOUDS for this great experience.
Also, I want to suggest with these paintings that perhaps mundane objects and our city itself are engimono in their own way— that rather than only special objects, the simple views of our daily life are something that bring us comfort and stir our feelings of gratitude. Engimono serve to bring good luck, while the images of the city represent the good luck we already have.
As we now have a new relationship with “going out,” I hope that diving into miniature worlds on paper can be an alternative escape as we continue waiting and wishing. Illustration books of the full "Engimono" series are now available on my webstore. Various prints and products with designs from "Engimono" can also be ordered on Redbubble.
